This webapp is a dynamic visualization of the knowledge two humanitarian organizations had in the aftermath of the 2015 Nepal earthquake
Knowledge Geo was developed for a research project that uses case studies to empirically identify specific epistemic strengths and weaknesses from traditional and emerging practices for data gathering in humanitarian emergencies. This webapp is meant to compare knowledge produced by one digital and one classical humanitarian actor in order to visualize who knew what and when during the 50 first days after the 2015 Nepal earthquake. Each point of knowledge is related to a category of information (medical, relief needs, distribution, etc.), a date and a GIS coordinate extracted from both organizations data sets. The webapp also provides an analytical tool using semantic analysis to compare actors' description of the events.

Jean-François Dubé
Jean-François is a philosophy teacher at Cégep de Granby and Master's student in philosophy at Université de Sherbrooke. This webapp was developed for his M.A. thesis.
François Claveau
François is assistant professor of philosophy at Université de Sherbrooke and holds the Canada Research Chair in Applied Epistemology. He supervises Jean-François on this project.
